Sky Netgear DG834GT and Epson WiFi Printer Sx515W
I am very much a novice as regards setting up WiFi devices but have followed the makers instructions in the past and had no problems until I bought a new printer. I cannot connect a Sony laptop to a new SX515W Printer wirelessly via my Netgear Router on Sky Broadband. Spent hours on the phone talking to the Epson Tech boys and they think the problem possiblilty lies within the Sky Router. Trying to connect manually just does not work following their phone instructions. Sky helped me to access the Netgear settings but would only help in changing the channel. It appears to me that the router's security is set to WEP, yet the wireless settings in the router appear to support WPA-PSK? If I change the settings to WPA-PSK from WEP, the 8 digit security key - printed on the Netgear Router - is displayed. When I then apply the settings the laptop will not receive a WiFi signal. Is anyone else having the same problems?
